ANGI GmbH is an owner-managed provider of custom software development and complex systems, device, and data integration, headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany. Since its foundation in 1994, we have been developing tailored software solutions for complex technical and scientific environments. Our focus is on the digitalization, integration, and automation of laboratory and analytical workflows, especially where off-the-shelf software reaches its limits.

History
For more than 30 years, we have been bridging the gap between scientific instruments, laboratory processes, and software systems. ​Angi GmbH was founded in 1994 by Arno Dorschner and Frank Kremser, whose collaboration began during their student years while working at Hewlett-Packard in Research & Development and Quality Control.

​​​From the very beginning, we positioned ourselves as an engineering consultancy for technical software solutions. Rather than offering off-the-shelf products, we focused on designing and building tailored solutions for complex technical challenges. In our early years, we delivered projects for customers across a wide range of industries, banking, the automotive sector, telecommunications, and manufacturers of scientific and analytical instruments.

Over time, we continuously expanded our expertise and increasingly specialized in analytical instrumentation, laboratory informatics, and chromatography. Through decades of experience and numerous projects in regulated laboratory environments, we developed deep domain knowledge in the integration of laboratory instruments, chromatography data systems (CDS), analytical equipment, and business-critical laboratory workflows.

​In 2022, Arno Dorschner passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. We will remember him as a valued friend and colleague.
In 2023, the long-planned transition of management to the next generation was initiated. Michael Kunze and Christoph Horn, who had already been with Angi for many years, joined the management team and will continue to lead the company in the spirit of the founders and with fresh ideas.

Today, we are recognized as a specialist provider of highly sophisticated software solutions for analytical laboratories and scientific instrumentation. We help our customers seamlessly connect instruments, systems, and data flows, automate complex processes, and implement solutions that go beyond the capabilities of standard software.

Frank Kremser
Co-Founder of the Angi GmbH, which has gone on to provide successful businesses in sectors including chromatography, automation, lab informatics, and measuring technology.
Since graduating in Computer Science from KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie), I am working to improve chromatographic systems for better data acquisition and data evaluation.

While I was studying computer science at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in 2005, I started working as a software developer at Angi GmbH. Since then I have been fascinated by the combination of software and hardware in the field of measurement technology and analytics.
